At the moment, the Golden State Warriors are ranked 17th in the league when it comes to the team's defensive rating. At 109.3, the Dubs currently have a lower defensive rating than the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers (ninth at 106.5), Dallas Mavericks (13th at 107.9), and the Orlando Magic (14th at 108.6).
However, when this was pointed out to Warriors star Klay Thompson, the sharp-shooting guard did not appear to be one bit concerned about this particular statistic.

Thompson did not even bother explaining his response, making it adamantly clear that he has zero concern about this “issue” right now.
Article Continues BelowThe Warriors' current defensive rating speaks volumes of the level of defense the team is playing at right now. Their defense is definitely one of the biggest chinks in their armor, and is one of the primary reasons why they have not been able to meet preseason expectations.
On Saturday night, for instance, the Warriors gave up 20 three-pointers against the Sacramento Kings in a matchup that somewhat exposed the Dubs' lack of effort in defending the three ball. Nonetheless, the Warriors still came out on top, 127-123. They matched fire with fire, connecting on 21 attempts from rainbow territory themselves.
This, perhaps, is exactly why Thompson does not seem too concerned about his team's defensive woes. Despite how “terrible” the Warriors have been thus far, they still hold a 26-14 record and are currently sitting on the third spot in the West.
As Thompson implied, it's only a matter of time before the Warriors finally get it together, and when that time comes, the rest of the league better be ready.
