Klay Thompson may not be confident he can surpass Stephen Curry as the Golden State Warriors' GOAT shooter, but there is no doubt he is one of the best players in team history.
On Saturday against the Utah Jazz, Thompson became the Warriors' seventh leading scorer of all time after he passed team legend Jeff Mullins on the list. He entered the game needing just 11 points to break Mullins' 12,547 points with the franchise, and Thompson quickly got to work and put up 12 points in the first half to move up.

Klay Thompson still has a lot of work to do to pass the likes of Nate Thurmond, Chris Mullin, Wilt Chamberlain and even his own Warriors teammate in Stephen Curry. Steph has over 20,000 points already, so it'll definitely take some time before Klay catches up to his Splash Bro. in the Top 5 or even the Top 3.
Still, Thompson has already cemented himself as one of the greatest players in Warriors history. An argument can even be made that he could have been in the top five of the list already had he not missed the past two seasons because of injury.
But that is part of the game and Thompson understands that. Now, he is focused on just doing what he can do for the Warriors as they try to put themselves in a good position to succeed come playoffs time–with or without Curry.
