It has become an extremely entangled situation with there being much uncertainty around how much longer Anthony will remain with the Knicks. This has the potential to create for an uncomfortable season with the distraction of the 33-year-old's future in New York drawing much of the attention.

Anthony has made it clear to the front office that he desires to be dealt to the Rockets, but it has become a complicated process that has centered around the Knicks' willingness to take on Ryan Anderson's lucrative contract that has three years left on the four-year, $80 million deal.
