New York Knicks point guard Emmanuel Mudiay has not yet played a single game this season. But now that he's healthy, head coach David Fizdale wants to give Mudiay a chance to bring his playmaking skills to the table.

Howie Kussoy of the New York Post wrote a column on Rasheed Wallace's mentorship of the Knicks' bigs, including Fizdale's plans on giving Mudiay minutes against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday.

Emmanuel Mudiay (ankle) practiced Sunday, and is listed as probable for Monday’s game against the Nets. But even though the guard is now healthy enough to make his season debut, it doesn’t mean Fizdale will be ready to put him on the court.

“I don’t know how soon I’m gonna do it, but at some point I’m gonna want to take a look at him, and see how he looks,” Fizdale said. “He really helps our pace. I think he’s our best at getting guys the ball where they need it. It’s just a matter of finding the right time to do it.”

Indeed, Mudiay is a handful for opponents when healthy. The 21-year old playmaker normed averages of 8.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds in just 22.4 minutes for the Knicks last season. While those numbers aren't really that impressive, Mudiay can set up his teammates in zones where they have the best opportunity to score.

Furthermore, the Knicks don't really have solid assist men in their roster, making it easier for David Fizdale to conclude that Mudiay is their best playmaker right now.
