When the New York Knicks traded Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder, it officially signified the start of another chapter for the franchise.
On the flipside, it also marks the end of the team’s marriage with Anthony, one that lasted for almost seven full seasons. It’s also one that deserves a tribute video from the Knicks’ organization, which despite coming up with zero titles over that span, still had plenty of good memories with Anthony as its leader.
Born and bred New York, we thank you for what you’ve given to our city, organization, and fans. #Knicks pic.twitter.com/FoTGdeL8mU

The 30-second long video didn’t contain any Anthony highlights. There were no game-winning pull-up shots nor dunks. Instead, the Knicks' creative team put together a montage of Anthony looking happy wearing Knicks threads and mingling with the fans.
Of course, the city would’ve preferred their memory of Melo in a Knicks uniform raising the Larry O’Brien trophy, but since Anthony didn’t even manage to raise the team past the second round of the playoffs, they will just have to satisfy themselves with the fact that the New York-bred forward gave his all for the team.
In 412 regular season games played for the Knicks, Anthony averaged 24.7 points on 44.3 field goal shooting percentage – and probably took close to a million jumpers.
