Los Angeles Lakers forward Brandon Ingram had himself a night against the Golden State Warriors. Last year's No. 2 overall pick put up a career-high 32 points on 12-of-21 shooting to help the Lakers give the Warriors a good scare in Los Angeles.
After the game, Lakers teammate Lonzo Ball remarked that he believed Ingram has the ability to put up that sort of scoring number on a nightly basis.
Lonzo Ball on Brandon Ingram: “I see him growing up, stepping up to the game. 32 points, career high. He can do that for us nightly. When he is hitting his mid-range, he is very tough to guard.” #Lakers

It’s easy to forget that Brandon Ingram had an argument for being the No. 1 overall pick over Ben Simmons last season because of his terrific upside as a scorer. He even drew comparisons to Kevin Durant because of their similarly lanky build and diverse offensive skill set.

Brandon Ingram has made major strides in his second season, though. He’s putting up 15.7 points on 46 percent shooting and is becoming more and more like the talent the Lakers thought they were getting when they drafted him second overall.
While being a consistent 30-point scorer like Durant as Ball envisions seems like a terribly lofty goal, Ingram should at least be a reliable 20-point per game scorer soon at the rate he’s going.
