The Los Angeles Clippers endured an injury-plagued 2021-2022 NBA season. They have the talent to be a top-tier contender but Kawhi Leonard missed the entirety of the year while Paul George battled injuries and faced a covid scare in the postseason. This was a team that truly suffered from bad luck.

Nonetheless, the Clippers have the potential to become a Finals contender with Leonard and George leading the way. But this is a roster that could benefit from adding depth without question. Some of that depth will be added through free agency and trades. But Los Angeles needs to utilize the upcoming NBA Draft as well.

There are a number of under-the-radar prospects in this year's draft who are being overlooked. If the Clippers can snag one or two of these players in the second or third round, these are guys who could develop into X-Factors as soon as 2022-2023.

So without further ado, here are 3 sleepers the Clippers need to target in the NBA Draft.

3 sleeper prospects for Clippers to Target in 2022 NBA Draft

Tyrese Martin, UConn

Tyrese Martin is a forward who could become a versatile shooting guard at 6'6. The 23-year old offers strength and athleticism with his 215 pound frame.

Martin isn't someone who is going to lead your team in scoring. He also isn't a tremendous offensive player by any means. However, Martin is a talented rebounder who is always willing to hustle for loose balls and work hard on the court.

But would the Clippers really want to spend a pick on a pure hustle player?

The truth is that Tyrese Martin offers more than simply hustle and rebounding. He isn't a lockdown defender or premier scorer, but he can contribute in both areas. He is going to have games where he scores 15-20 points. Additioanlly, coaches can place him in the low post or on the perimeter from a defensive standpoint.

Martin's balance and versatility make him an intriguing prospect in the NBA Draft.

Iverson Molinar, Mississippi State

Molinar is a player who could quickly become impactful for the Clippers. While Tyrese Martin would add that extra layer of depth, Molinar could develop into a starting point guard down the road. At 6'3 and 185 pounds, he offers an impressive blend of size and athleticism.

Although he has room to develop in the playmaking department, Molinar features a quality jump shot to go along with strong defense. If he can enhance his passing ability Molinar could be the perfect fit alongside Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Reggie Jackson also represents the lone true point guard option so adding another player at the position would be beneficial for the Clippers.

It will be interesting to see how teams approach drafting Molinar. He is someone who could fall into the third round, or he could end up being an early second round pick. His potential is difficult to define but he is a guy who makes sense for the Clippers to take.

JD Davidson, Alabama

JD Davidson is not even 20 years old yet, but has an extremely bright future ahead of him. The Clippers need guard depth and taking Davidson in the NBA Draft makes sense. He is arguably the most athletic guard in the draft this season. The challenge will be harnessing that athleticism and producing talent on the court.

That isn't to say he lacks talent… Davidson is a solid player without question. But his greatest asset is his strength and speed at 6'2, 190.

If Davidson develops a jump shot he would have the potential for stardom. This is a true sleeper in every sense of the word.
