This season has been full of bad news for the L.A. Clippers, and they got more of it Saturday.

Guard Austin Rivers was fined $25,000 by the NBA for a “verbal outburst” directed at a fan during Thursday's home loss to the Utah Jazz, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. Wojnarowski corrected his tweet to say Thursday moments after sending his initial report.

Rivers and the Clippers lost 126-107 to the Jazz. The incident came late in the fourth quarter, and saw Rivers walk over to a fan sitting courtside and bark several things at the fan, including the words “shut the (expletive) up.”

The next day, Rivers apologized to the fans via this Twitter page.

The Clippers have had many reasons to be frustrated this season. They are out several key players — Blake Griffin for two months, Patrick Beverly for the season — and have lost 10 of their last 13 games.

Many have wondered whether it's time for the Clippers to tank the season, and DeAndre Jordan is back in trade rumors as well.

While one can't necessarily blame Rivers for being frustrated at all that's gone on with the team, that doesn't excuse him from mouthing off to a fan in that way during a game.

However, the onus is also on the fan for getting him riled up in the first place with whatever it was they said.

In essence, can't we all just get along?
