All three records are pretty straightforward and require no further explanation. All of them just point to one solitary fact: the Clippers absolutely pummeled the Mavs in Game 5.
Article Continues BelowClippers swingman Paul George bounced back in a huge way following a string of disappointing performances. He led the way for the Clippers with a game-high 35 points on 12-of-18 shooting, along with three rebounds and two assists. Amazingly, he did all his damage in just 25 minutes of action. PG13 was out to prove his doubters wrong after being heavily criticized for his lackluster showing in the previous three games in the series.
Kawhi Leonard was not bad himself, logging 32 points on 12-of-19 from the floor to go with seven rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in 30 minutes of play.
For the Mavs, Luka Doncic came back to earth, finishing with 22 points on 6-of-17 shooting, eight rebounds, four assists, and a block. Dallas big man Kristaps Porzingis was forced to sit Game 5 with a knee problem, and Doncic himself was not a hundred percent. The young Slovenian continuously received treatment on his injured ankle throughout the contest, and he was clearly bothered by the same.
Nonetheless, fans can't take anything away from LA's superb defense on Doncic during the game. The Clippers are now 3-2 up in the series and will hope to close it out in Game 6 on Thursday.
