The NBA seems to get more interesting with each passing day. On Monday, the L.A. Clippers traded their franchise star Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons.

The move came as a shock to many people, including Griffin himself who stated that he found out he was traded on social media rather than from the front office. As it turns out, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski made an interesting report that Griffin was informed that he could possibly be moved before the trade even happened. If this is the case, there is now a dispute in both Griffin's and the Clippers' accounts as to what actually happened leading up to Griffin's trade.

Woj: “I know this. I know Lawrence Frank, the Clippers president, sat down with Blake Griffin earlier on the day on Monday .. Lawrence Frank told him that there is a possibility we may trade you.”

This puts things into perspective. Still, there is room for both parties to be telling the truth. To start, telling a player that he could possibly be traded is actually very different than telling a player he has been traded. Surely, Griffin was likely informed that a deal could take place if the price was right. However, if Griffin wasn't informed that he was traded, the initial warning could have sufficed entirely. Whatever the case may be, this situation appears to be more complicated than it's letting on.

Nevertheless, one thing is for certain. Griffin and the Clippers are no longer working together, so hopefully both parties can move on.
