Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George has been attacking the rim more often this season. His aggression has paid dividends as the team is on a two-game winning streak. When asked for the reason behind it, he jokingly mentioned that he is just maximizing his athleticism which he still got a little ‘left in the tank'.
The Clippers cruised to another commanding victory when they visited the Orlando Magic on Friday night. Head coach Tyronn Lue and his squad were never threatened as they led the Magic all throughout the game. The Clippers eventually took advantage of their opponent's depleted lineup and emerged victorious on a 116-90 win.
Article Continues BelowPaul George and Kawhi Leonard both returned on the floor after missing two games each after they were mandated to quarantine and undergo the league's health and safety protocols. George was stellar in his first game back where he tallied 26 points on 10/19 shooting from the field along with nine rebounds, and five assists. Leonard also notched 24 points, four rebounds, and four assists for the Clippers.
With the victory, the Clippers returned in the win column after getting their previous seven-game winning streak snapped against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night, largely due to the superstar duo's absence. Los Angeles improved to a 15-5 record for the second spot in the Western Conference, closely trailing the streaking Utah Jazz in the standings.
With Paul George's tactic of attacking the rim more often of late working, the six-time All-Star will aim for favorable results once again when they tussle against the upstart New York Knicks on Jan. 31.
