Patrick Beverley will reportedly take meetings with as many as five teams before meeting with the Los Angeles Clippers once free agency starts, according to veteran NBA insider Sean Deveney.
Beverley becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. He made $5,027,027 in 2018-19 with the Clippers, who made the playoffs in the rugged Western Conference despite not having an All-Star on the roster.
The Clips lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round in six games. Beverley is considered the heart and soul of the team, but LA is expected to go after two max contract players this offseason and might have to let Beverley walk.

During the regular season, Beverley averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists for the Clippers. The Chicago native shot 40.7 percent from the field, 39.7 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line. Beverley is one of the best perimeter defenders in all of basketball and plays with tremendous passion and grit.
Because he's from Chicago, Beverley has been linked to the Chicago Bulls, who are looking for someone to push point guard Kris Dunn. Beverley recently said he would love to play for his hometown Bulls if the finances worked out.
Beverley, who turns 31 in July, has career averages of 9.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 380 NBA games with the Houston Rockets and Clippers.
