The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Demetrius Jackson to fill the final roster spot for training camp.

The Lakers announced on Tuesday that they'll include Jackson — the 45th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft — on their 20-man training camp roster.

The 6-foot-1 Jackson has played in only 26 games in his NBA career. He has suited up for the Houston Rockets, Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics. In three years in the league, he has averaged just 1.8 points per contest.

In six games with the Sixers last season, the Notre Dame alum averaged 3.7 points in 6.5 minutes of play. He also had a stint with the Sixers' G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, where he put up decent numbers of 19.4 points and 7.4 assists per game.

In the 2019 Summer League, Jackson played for the Portland Trail Blazers and recorded 6.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 16.6 minutes per game. His showing paved the way for him to get and  invite from the Lakers.

Jackson inked an Exhibit 10 contract. By definition, an Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, minimum-salary contract that can be converted into a two-way deal but does not count against a team’s salary cap.

Jackson can earn a bonus of $5,000 to $50,000 if he is waived, signs with the team’s G League affiliate or is assigned to the G League team and remains there for at least 60 days.
