LOS ANGELES – After having their seven-game win streak snapped against the defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors last Sunday, the Los Angeles Lakers bounced back with a vengeance. Los Angeles pulled out a win on the road against the Phoenix Suns and followed that up by crushing the Golden State Warriors back at the Staples Center.

Although the Lakers were shorthanded with Anthony Davis and Rajon Rondo sitting out, the Lakers didn't miss a beat with LeBron James leading the charge. The superstar forward led the way with a game-high 23 points to go along with 12 assists and six rebounds. Kyle Kuzma also had another solid performance with 22 points. Neither player played more than 31 minutes as they proceded to blow out the Warriors, 120-94.

“We played some good basketball throughout 48 minutes, and we got a good win,” James said. “We just paid attention to detail in our game plan. Offensively, once again, having over 30 assists is huge for our ball club. Everyone felt involved on the offensive end.”

The Lakers dished out 31 assists on Wednesday night, leading to five players being in double figures. Davis wasn't in the paint causing problems for the opponent on both ends of the floor, but he wasn't needed against a Warriors team going through a rough year after the departure of Kevin Durant and the injuries to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

“With AD [Anthony Davis] being out, I knew I had to pick up the load offensively,” LeBron said. “Just trying to set the tone. Set the tone early in the game. See if my shot was going, and it was. Just trying to be aggressive on that side.”

With this win, the Lakers improve to 9-2 on the season and technically 5-1 (loss to the L.A. Clippers at Staples Center) at home. The team is off to its best start since the 2010-11 squad. That team led by Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol went 13-2 to start the year after coming off back-to-back championships.

Los Angeles now has three more games on this homestand as they'll host the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, and Oklahoma City Thunder before hitting the road for four straight games away from the Staples Center.
