Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball is signing with Creative Artists Agency, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.
Ball parted ways with agent Harrison Gaines last week. It was a mutual decision by both sides.
“After thinking about this decision over the last few weeks, I concluded that CAA made the most sense for my career both on and off the court,” Ball told ESPN in a statement on Monday. “With CAA now in place to manage my basketball career, I can focus my attention and energy on training for the upcoming season.”
The Lakers are missing the playoffs this season. Ball's second season in the NBA was cut short after he suffered an ankle injury against the Houston Rockets in January.
In 47 games this season for the Lakers, Lonzo Ball averaged 9.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists per contest. The 21-year-old playmaker also shot 40.6 percent from the field, 32.9 percent from beyond the arc and 41.7 percent from the free-throw line.
Some of CAA's top clients are Devin Booker, Joel Embiid, Paul George, Donovan Mitchell, Tony Parker, Chris Paul, D'Angelo Russell, Karl-Anthony Towns and Dwyane Wade.
Ball is joining a good agency group which should help him focus on his Lakers career.
