The opening night game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors was attended by Vanessa and Natalia Bryant, the wife and daughter of the late Kobe Bryant.

They were shown on the Jumbotron at Crypto.com Arena, and they were smiling upon being shown. Dave McMenamin pointed out that Natalia was the creative director behind the video celebrating the Lakers' fandom from earlier in the month.

Despite the positivity, the Lakers were not able to beat the Warriors on opening night. They lost by 10 points to the Stephen Curry-led Warriors.

The Lakers' leading scorer was Luka Doncic. LeBron James missed the game due to his injury. Austin Reaves also stepped up, scoring 26 points.

Jimmy Butler led the Warriors in scoring with 31 points. Stephen Curry had 23 points, including nine from three-pointers. Jonathan Kuminga scored 17 as well.

Vanessa is widely known as the widowed wife of Kobe, but she is also a businesswoman and philanthropist. She co-founded the Kobe and Vanessa Bryant Foundation in 2007 with her late husband. The organization provides scholarships to minority college students.

Additionally, she leads the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation. That organization helps support child athletes who are in need.

Natalia is the eldest daughter of Kobe and Vanessa. She recently graduated from the University of Southern California, studying film there. That is why she was able to direct the Lakers' video about their fandom.

She is also a social media sensation. Her Instagram account has over 2.8 million followers, and her TikTok page has over 637,200 followers.

Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna died in a helicopter crash in January 2020. Vanessa then filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles County, which was settled three years later in 2023.

It was nice to see them honored by Crypto.com Arena, home of the Lakers, when the Warriors visited. The teams will face three more times, with one more game in Los Angeles and then two in San Francisco.
