One of the most intriguing jobs for sports fans is getting into sports media. The most notable people in sports media include Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless, Colin Cowherd, Adrian Wojnarowski, and Adam Schefter. A man on the rise in the sports media world is Aron Cohen, the owner of Los Angeles Lakers social media page Lakersalldayeveryday.

His Lakers' Instagram page has over 295,000 followers, and it is still growing.

What started as a hobby when he was 14 entering high school turned into a job. He started the page in 2013 due to his love for the Los Angeles Lakers. Cohen continued to run the page throughout high school, then got accepted into USC. His time at USC is where his page took off.

Aron's college and internships

He learned a lot during his time at USC, as he joined the social media team. Cohen would attend practices, games, and be in the locker room with the USC basketball team. He also had great professors who had an extensive background in sports, providing him with great information that he soaked up.

Aron Cohen described the professors as “overqualified,” and those classes were super beneficial for him.

While at USC, Cohen took on internships at Bleacher Report and ESPN. Bleacher Report set up a US-wide program across college campuses to have an ambassador host events, contests, and give presentations about the B/R app. They chose Cohen to be the ambassador at USC and ranked number 1 in the whole country promoting the app.

Cohen's internship at ESPN was completely different. His job there was running the social media page, including posting on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. He had the creative freedom to create content that he wanted to post. Cohen loved the environment at ESPN, and it was the best experience and the place he learned from most.

He gained valuable experience that has helped him grow his social media pages. Cohen had offers from big sports media companies, but he declined as he wanted to build his own brand with Lakersalldayeveryday.

How LADE grew and made connections with players

Building a social media page is all about getting repetition and producing content. Cohen described the importance of staying consistent and putting out good quality content, while not worrying about the number of followers. Over time, Cohen's page took off, and he started to make connections with players.

He started by messaging players like Metta Sandiford-Artest, Brandon Ingram, and Byron Scott, who followed the page. LADE was also followed by sports reporter Shams Charania. Eventually, he was followed by an abundance of players. This list included D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle, Kyle Kuzma, Quinn Cook, Dwight Howard, and Anthony Davis.

The day Quinn Cook signed, he sent a direct message to Cook welcoming him to the Lakers. A few months later, he got a random message from Cook giving him tickets and family passes to a Lakers game. He then met Cook after the game and from there became friends. Cook and Aron Cohen even played NBA 2k21 on a twitch stream during this offseason.

Meeting AD, Harrell, and Lethalshooter

The most intriguing story is Anthony Davis following the page. One day, during the 2020 NBA Finals, Davis followed LADE. Cohen never asked him to follow, he just did it, and they have been in contact since. During this season, Cohen flew out to Orlando for a game between the Lakers and Magic. Davis did not know Cohen was in attendance but recognized him when he yelled out to him during the game. After the game, Davis went over to Cohen and signed his jersey for him.

He also got Montrezl Harrell's shoes after the game, as Cohen yelled to him during the game that he liked his shoes. Harrell also followed LADE that night, after a message from Cohen thanking him for the shoes.

Later in the season, Davis was on Instagram live in the locker room with Jared Dudley, and he invited Cohen to join live. They then had a conversation for a few mins and showed their friendship and support for each other.

Another one of Cohen's friendships is with Lethalshooter. One day, they messaged each other and agreed to do an Instagram live video. The video went so well that over the years they became close friends that communicate almost daily. Cohen said that Lethalshooter has been instrumental in his success, and they always help each other out.

It didn't happen overnight, but Cohen has made great connections along the way.

How Aron Cohen has inspired his fans

What Cohen has been able to accomplish at a young age is phenomenal. He always brings positivity and has inspired his fans to pursue their dreams at a young age. I know this personally, as he has helped me on my journey. Without watching what he was able to accomplish at a young age, I wouldn't have applied for a job here at ClutchPoints. I got a job as a sports writer at a truly young age, and I really appreciate the inspiration and advice from Cohen.

In our interview, Cohen described his inspiration to fans as “a great feeling and one of the best things about his page.” Due to his success, Cohen loves to do giveaways on his social media pages. He wanted to be able to give back to all the fans that love and support the page. Cohen will ship the jerseys he gives away no matter where the fan lives or how much the shipping price is.

It's safe to say Cohen will continue to inspire people like me, as he continues to grow Lakersalldayeveryday and take over the sports media world.
