Orlando Magic small forward Terrence Ross has been ruled out indefinitely after suffering a right tibial plateau fracture Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder on top of a sprained MCL, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.

The Magic said the sharp-shooting forward would miss “a significant amount of time” in their press release. He will be re-evaluated after his injuries heal a bit more to assess a more accurate timetable for his return.

Ross had been regaining his groove after a whimsical start to the season, but suffered the injury at the 4:38 mark of the second quarter, leaving the game after hitting two of his three three-point attempts and coming up with two blocks before his exit.

The Magic snapped a nine-game skid against the Thunder on Wednesday night, thanks to a huge night from Aaron Gordon, who posted 40 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, and four steals in 44 minutes of play.

Ross' injury will translate into even more playing time for offseason acquisition Jonathon Simmons and wings Mario Hezonja and Aaron Afflalo.

The 26-year-old Ross averaged 9.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 26.2 minutes of action through 20 starts in 22 games. He scored a season-high 22 points against the Minnesota Timberwolves last Wednesday.
