On Tuesday evening, the Dallas Mavericks will hit the floor at home for a nationally televised game against the Boston Celtics in a rematch of the 2024 NBA Finals. To say the Mavericks have a dicey injury situation for this game would be an understatement, as Dallas has nine players on the injury report ahead of the matchup. Here's everything we know about the injury status of the various Mavericks heading into the Boston game.
Mavericks' injury situation vs the Celtics on Tuesday night
Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and Dante Exum will all remain out of the lineup due to their various long-term injuries on Tuesday vs the Celtics. Meanwhile, Moussa Cisse is questionable and Miles Kelly is probable due to their G-League situations, while Ryan Nembhard is probable for the same reason.
Brandon Williams is questionable after suffering a leg contusion in the Mavericks' last game over the weekend against the Houston Rockets, while PJ Washington is out due to being in the concussion protocol.
The Celtics have no injuries to report outside of Jayson Tatum, who is still recovering from his torn Achilles that he suffered in last year's playoffs.
The good news for the Mavericks is that Cooper Flagg is not on the injury report at all. Flagg has been on a heater as of late, recently dropping 49 points on the Charlotte Hornets, and then turning in another impressive performance on Saturday against the Rockets.
Flagg has been the lone beacon of hope for the Mavericks this year as trade rumors swirl around the franchise, most of them involving Davis ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline.
Meanwhile, the Celtics have been one of the biggest surprises in the NBA this season, with Jaylen Brown playing at an All-NBA level in Tatum's absence.
Tipoff between the Mavericks and Celtics is slated for 8:00 pm ET from Dallas.
