It's back to the drawing board for the Miami Heat following their 104-93 loss to the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Nuggets pretty much dominated the game from start to finish leaving the Heat with more questions than answers. One area in particular that the Nuggets dominated was free-throw attempts. The Nuggets went to the free-throw line 20 times and converted on 16 of them. In comparison, the Heat only went to the line two times all game. It was a glaring disparity, one that Heat star Bam Adebayo was asked about postgame via Bally Sports Florida. Adebayo gave his thoughts but brought up an interesting point regarding potential fines for players answering baiting-type questions by reporters.

“Why he don't get fined for saying that?” Adebayo quipped before he left the postgame podium. And before he even answered the question, Bam Adebayo asked the reporter if he would pay any potential fines. In all though, Adebayo was adamant that the free-throw disparity wasn't the main cause for the loss.

“I just feel like we can't even get into that, we can't let them dictate the game,” Adebayo said. “I just feel like we took a lot of jump shots and we missed a lot of them instead of getting to the basket. Like I said, we're gonna watch film and get back to the drawing board.”

Adebayo did his part in Game 1 to try and make the game competitive. He finished with a team-high 26 points on 13-25 shooting, 13 rebounds and five assists. The Heat will need more games like that from Adebayo to make the NBA Finals competitive.
