Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade had plenty to say after his final matchup with former teammate LeBron James in Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
It was James who got the upper hand in the matchup between the two NBA legends, as the Lakers grabbed a 108-105 victory at Staples Center.
LeBron James had the performance of the night, coming up just one rebound shy of a triple-double by posting 28 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds, while Dwyane Wade scored 15 points off the bench for Miami.
But this was obviously about more than just one game for these two stars, and Wade had a lot of emotions on display when speaking about the matchup, according to ClutchPoints Lakers beat writer Ryan Ward.
Dwyane Wade on facing LeBron James one last time: "It's tough. This is what you play for. One of the greatest players ever. Whether we was teammates. Whether we was opponents. We brought the best out of each other." via @NBATV #Lakers #Heat

Dwyane Wade on LeBron James: "I'm just thankful I had the opportunity to be able to be drafted the same time as this guy & the friendship that we have. You guys knows that's beyond basketball, but I'm going to miss this. I'm going to miss the shit out of this, man." #Lakers #Heat

These two players have been a part of some of the most memorable teams and moments in NBA history, so it's understandable why both would view this as a bittersweet type of moment.
They accomplished a tremendous amount of success during their time together in Miami, and individually, they've had some incredible back-and-forth games as opponents.
But the two friends have done a lot for the game of basketball, and that's especially the case in Miami when they had the stellar run in winning back-to-back NBA titles.
The Heat will try to get back on track on Wednesday night when they enter the fourth game of their road swing in a matchup against the Utah Jazz.
After that, they'll finish up the road trip with back-to-back games against Memphis and New Orleans.
