Per the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Ira Winderman, Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade is going to play against the Washington Wizards in the team's first back-to-back of the season.

Despite Wade's decline in durability and his age (36-years-old), the 16-year NBA veteran re-signed with the Heat to play a final season before retiring. With “retirement tours” becoming en vogue with the retirement of Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant, there's little doubt that Wade — who is in his 15th season with the Heat — wants to get a similar sense of appreciation this season.

Although Wade will face the Wizards for a second time this season on November 10th, this is the only time Wade will play in Washington before the Heat return to Capital One Arena on March 23rd.  By the time that Wade returns to the nation's capital (for a basketball game, of course), Wade could be resting regularly to preserve his legs for a playoff run.

In the Heat's season opener against the Orlando Magic, Wade was just 3-13 from the field but managed to collect 11 rebounds (five offensive rebounds) in 26 minutes of action. A 12-time All-Star, three-time champion and 2006 NBA Finals MVP, Wade has been one of the most sensational shooting guards in memory. His flair, flash and athleticism, along with a tremendous basketball IQ, have led many to rank him as the third best shooting guard of all-time behind Bryant and Michael Jordan.

The Heat will face the Wizards at 8:00 p.m. ET.
