If there’s one thing Kendrick Perkins does, aside from having a perpetual scowl, it is speaking his mind. He has had his fair share of Twitter beefs, most notably with Kevin Durant and most recently with Lou Williams. But it looks like he’s found an ally in Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

“The Flash” reacted to Perkins’ shout out to the Heat on Twitter after their pulsating Game 1 overtime win over the Boston Celtics in their Eastern Conference Finals tussle on Tuesday night.

Wade, who won three titles in South Beach, echoed Perkins’ sentiments that the Heat are for real while namedropping Jimmy Butler, who finished with 20 points, including the go-ahead basket with only 22 seconds left in regulation.

Perkins replied to Wade’s post, saying “(There’s) something about ‘dem goons’ my brother!”

It could be remembered that the 35-year-old Perkins, who now works as an analyst for ESPN, predicted the Heat will beat the top seed Milwaukee Bucks in the second round. He has a history of making quite off-kilter comments, but his bold forecast was right on the money.

Wade and Perkins are no strangers to each other, having battled in the Finals in 2012 with the future Hall of Fame guard starring for the Heat and the burly big man playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Wade also has a relationship with Butler, forming a tight bond during their one season together with the Chicago Bulls in 2016-2017. It helped a lot that they also both played for Marquette in college. So if there’s one guy who knows how much of a competitor Butler is, it’s Wade.
