Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade says he's been in frequent contact with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Udonis Haslem during the Heat's 2020 postseason run thus far. Wade has also reached out to youngsters like Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn when he wants to offer advice.

Wade, the best player in Heat franchise history, has been watching the games from afar as a fan. However, his basketball itch occasionally takes over:

“Even though I played for this organization and we’ve done some incredible things and I know these guys, I’m just a fan,” Dwyane Wade said during an interview with the Miami Herald.

“I watch from afar and I’m coaching like they can hear me. I’m screaming at them like they can hear me and I’m texting them after the game the same way. Hopefully they can hear me. I’m just a fan that knows the game very well and knows the organization and the team very well who has access to the players. It’s like the ultimate fan.”

Wade doesn't want to be too overbearing when it comes to giving advice, but he wants to stay connected to the team because he knows he's respected in that locker room.

The Heat are in the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2014. The last time Miami was this good was when LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were leading the South Beach franchise during the Big Three era from 2010 to 2014.

The Boston Celtics and Heat will begin their series on Tuesday. All eyes are going to be on Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum and Butler, as they are the two best players in this series.

Butler, the new face of the Heat in the post-Wade era, is putting up 21.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game for Miami in the 2020 playoffs. He's also shooting 47.7 percent from the field.
