Jimmy Butler has been tearing it up for the Miami Heat of late and all of a sudden, he's forced his name into the MVP conversation. Well, at least according to the great Dwyane Wade.
The Heat legend took to Twitter to campaign for Butler's current MVP credentials:
I know Jimmy doesn’t care but that MVP convo is heating up for my guy pic.twitter.com/hzsFESQvZp

Wade even busted out a Michael Scott meme to indicate just how serious he is about his statement here.

To be fair to Wade, Butler has been killing it for Miami for pretty much the entire year. The five-time All-Star had to sit out practically the whole month of January after testing positive for COVID-19. Butler himself has opened up about his struggles in battling the dreaded disease, but when he eventually came back, it was as if he never left.
Jimmy Buckets has been particularly en fuego since after the mid-season break, with the 31-year-old currently averaging 28.0 points (on 54.9 percent shooting), 6.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 4.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. Butler has clearly taken advantage of the All-Star break to rest and recover, and he has since come out of the gate firing on all cylinders. There's no denying that those are some pretty lofty numbers from Butler, and it is completely understandable why Wade believes he's playing at an MVP-level right now.
The Heat are back in action on Tuesday in what should be a comfortable win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. They enter that matchup on a four-game winning streak, and they will look to make it five straight against the Cavs.
