It was previously reported that the Miami Heat went on an impromptu team trip to the Bahamas right before the playoffs started. This isn't exactly a common occurrence for most teams as they prepare for the postseason but apparently, the Heat players needed a break (and perhaps a bit of a reward?) after finishing the regular season with the best record in the Eastern Conference.
When it was reported, it was unclear who the mastermind behind the trip was. As it turns out, it was Kyle Lowry. Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra recently opened up about the Bahamas vacation as he revealed how Lowry planned the entire trip:
“Kyle met with me and told me what he wanted to do with the team,” Spoelstra said, via Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “He had all the logistics figured out and I gave him my blessings. There are only about a handful of players like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Udonis Haslem who've played for this franchise that I know could have pulled off something like this. It shows you how special Kyle is and how much we really respect him as a person and a player.”

It doesn't sound like coach Spo is speaking negatively about the vacation. For all we know, this was exactly what the team needed right before they kicked off a grueling postseason run.
Right now, however, things aren't looking very good for the Heat. If they lose Game 6 against the Boston Celtics on Friday then unfortunately for Miami, they can already start planning out another team vacation.
