A lot will be on the line for both the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night when they face off in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Be that as it may, Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra decided to kick off his pre-game press conference to address the horrific Texas school shooting that transpired on Tuesday.
Spoelstra stands united with the rest of the American people who have been calling for change amid this most recent act of extreme violence:

Spoelstra is not the first to speak out on this distressing issue. On Tuesday, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr came out with a very passionate plea about the dire need for more gun control in the country. The Heat shot-caller may not have been as fervent as his Dubs counterpart, but it is clear that Spoelstra is on the same boat.
On a personal level, it pains for me to say this again for what now feels like an appallingly regular occurrence, but as always, our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.
