The Miami Heat will be at home on Monday to host the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals after taking out the Atlanta Hawks in the first round in five games. There are a number of players listed as questionable for the series opener though, which certainly raises some doubts. That being said, is Tyler Herro playing vs Sixers?
Is Tyler Herro playing vs Sixers
Herro is currently dealing with a respiratory illness but he is expected to play in Game 1 nonetheless:
UPDATE: Coach Spo says all players were able to participate in some level of today’s practice and that those are good signs.
Tyler Herro (respiratory illness) says he will be ready to go for Game 1.

This is big for the Heat because Herro has been a crucial part of their success all year long. However, the third-year guard did struggle vs. Atlanta, averaging just 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. He also shot just 17% from beyond the arc, despite being one of the better three-point shooters around. Miami will certainly need him to break out this cold streak in a hurry after putting up over 20 points per night during the regular season.
This illness is non-COVID related, which is why the Heat star hasn't landed in health and safety protocols. Aside from him being listed as questionable, Kyle Lowry is out while Jimmy Butler is also dealing with a sore knee, but he's likely to play.
The Heat should still have an advantage though with Joel Embiid sidelined for the Sixers after sustaining a mild concussion and orbital bone fracture last week against Toronto. Nonetheless, Herro's production needs to pick up in order for Miami to make a legitimate run.
So to answer the question, is Tyler Herro playing tonight? Yes, he is.
