Miami Heat star point guard Kyle Lowry hasn't played since January 15th due to personal reasons, but it appears he's finally nearing a return to the team.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra revealed that Lowry was a participant in shootaround on Thursday ahead of their matchup with the San Antonio Spurs:
UPDATE: Coach Spo says Kyle Lowry went through team shootaround today.
“We were all excited to see him back in here. It was a great energy today.”
Caleb Martin (Achilles) has been ruled out. Jimmy Butler (toe) and P.J. Tucker (knee) will warm up with the intent to play.

While Spoelstra didn't confirm the Heat veteran will suit against San Antonio, it's definitely a possibility. Miami could sure use him right now, having lost three in a row. They're also just 5-5 in their last 10 games. Since Lowry has been sidelined, the team has posted a 5-4 record.

Lowry may not be putting up the type of numbers we saw in Toronto, but the 35-year-old is still making his presence felt. He's averaging 13.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and a team-best 8.3 assists for the 32-20 Heat, who are just one game behind the Chicago Bulls for top spot in the East.
Aside from his production, Kyle Lowry is the ultimate leader. Miami is certainly excited to have him back. You can't blame them.
