It's no secret that Stephen A Smith has been rooting for the Miami Heat throughout this playoffs. It's not necessarily because of his affinity for the squad but being the unbiased broadcaster that he is, it's all about soaking up the wonders of South Beach for the ESPN analyst.
Smith has always been the type to call a spade a spade and this is exactly what he did right after the Heat fell to the Celtics in their own home court in Game 5. After pointing out what went wrong for the Heat in their 93-80 loss on Wednesday night, Stephen A slapped Miami with the harsh reality of this series being done and dusted:
“I think this series is over,” Smith said. “I don't think there's any way in hell that the Miami Heat go to Boston in Game 6, Friday night, and escape and force a Game 7. My time in South Beach, I sadly say to you, is officially over.”

I’m afraid to say my time in South Beach is officially OVER! pic.twitter.com/42HUJBLSez

Smith had a lot of regret in his statement not because the Heat are about to bow out of the playoffs (at least in his mind), but simply because he will now be forced to leave South Beach. Stephen A is adamant that he will now be headed to Boston to cover the NBA Finals. The Celtics can officially book their place with a win in Game 6 and it is clear that Smith believes that this is a foregone conclusion.
