Herro spoke after Miami's win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night, saying that he was around someone who tested positive for COVID-19. While Herro may have to quarantine, by him playing, the Heat may have to conduct tests to ensure that members of the roster didn't test positive.
At the same time, the Kings will have to make sure that they don't have any players who test positive after playing against Herro on Saturday. Even though Herro hasn't tested positive himself, he could be considered a risk due to him being exposed to someone who tested positive.
Article Continues BelowThe timing of Herro's possible quarantine could be unfortunate for the Heat as they just got Jimmy Butler back after he missed multiple weeks due to COVID-19. Butler reportedly lost over 10 pounds during his bout with COVID-19, but that didn't stop him from leading Miami to a victory on Saturday.
Early this season, the Heat have been hampered by injuries, and COVID-19, which has resulted in them starting the season with a 7-12 record. Herro himself has missed a few games already due to a neck ailment and he could now miss time due to COVID-19.
Miami's next game is on Monday against the Charlotte Hornets and it remains to be seen if they have Herro available.
