Culture is always the word you hear when someone references the Miami Heat. But what exactly does it entail? Heat icon Udonis Haslem, who has spent his entire career in Miami, is the best person to answer this question.
A three-time champion, Haslem says “accountability is a foreign language in this league,” but the Heat are big on it:
“We big on that. Accountability is a foreign language in this league. We don’t believe that,” Haslem told Michael Lee of The Athletic. “We hold guys accountable. We hold guys to be the best and when you get to that point, we’re going to push you to be a little better.”
There's a reason Jimmy Butler is fitting in so well with the Heat this season. Everyone on the roster works hard, cares about winning and doesn't get upset when someone tells them they are doing something wrong.

These are three components Butler didn't find with the Minnesota Timberwolves or Philadelphia 76ers. It's why he requested a trade from the Timberwolves and didn't re-sign with the Sixers.
The Heat are 20-8 on the season. They are in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Before the season started, most pundits picked the Milwaukee Bucks and Sixers to meet in the Conference Finals.
The Heat may have something to say about that when it's all said and done.
