Free agent guard Jalen Brunson's market has been heating up, with the Dallas Mavericks- the team who drafted him- the New York Knicks and Miami Heat reportedly linked to him. With the NBA free agency period opening on Thursday at 6 PM Eastern Time, it was reported by Yahoo Sports that Brunson would take meetings with the Knicks, Mavs and Heat. However, the real truth behind the Heat's interest in Brunson was revealed on Thursday morning by Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.
The Heat are not planning to meet with Jalen Brunson today, and they did not have such a meeting scheduled, per league source.

The Heat won't be meeting with Brunson and there was never any meeting scheduled, per Reynolds. Well, that is quite an interesting twist.
If there was never any meeting scheduled between the Heat and Brunson, that means that the report was likely leaked by one of the other teams competing for his services in NBA free agency.

The talented guard's price tag is reportedly in the $100 million range, something that was likely aided by the Heat's “interest” in him.
Brunson enjoyed a breakout year for the Mavs, averaging career-highs in points, assists, rebounds and field-goal percentage. He proceeded to shine in the playoffs, helping Dallas advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Now, Brunson is about to get paid- not by the Heat, though.
