Italian club AX Milan recently signed former New York Knicks forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas for the rest of the season. Kuzminskas reportedly had five offers on the table in Europe and seemingly had none to stay in the NBA.
However, Kuzminskas has revealed that he actually did have an offer to sign with another NBA team, but declined it since it was only a two-way deal.
Per Lithuanian journalist Donatas Urbonas:

He got 2-way deal offer but didn't want to be thrown between NBA and D League. Kuzminskas hopes to come back to the NBA in future: ‘I believe I can play there'
Kuzminskas was well within his rights to pick the situation which he felt was best for him. However, it was still a curious decision to opt against a two-way deal because he didn’t fancy shifting from the NBA to the G League and vice versa.
While a two-way contract is not exactly an ideal situation, it is at least one step closer to the NBA and impressing during a call-up could then lead to a standard contract.
But Kuzminskas made his decision, and if it makes him happy to play in Europe as opposed to going to the G League with the slight chance of getting called up to the NBA, then good for him.
