The San Francisco 49ers are coming off another letdown campaign, finishing the 2017 season with a 6-10 record. It’s definitely an improvement, though, compared to the 2-14 slate they had in 2016 and a 5-11 ledger in 2015. Hopes are high for San Francisco for the upcoming season, especially with shiny new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo about to start his first full season with his new team.
Asked about his thoughts of his team being touted as a team to watch out for in 2018, Garoppolo merely stated that it’s something that he will have to filter out, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Even when the season just ends, they start talking about it. It’s all noise on the outside, but I think we have a good group that is locked in right now. We’re focused on OTAs. We’ll go in to training camp, hopefully have a good training camp and take it day by day.”
The 49ers are among the most intriguing teams this year, as many are pegging them as a dark horse to win Super Bowl LIII next year. Of course, this has a lot to do with Garoppolo, who showed his immense potential as a starting quarterback right after he was traded to San Francisco by the New England Patriots in exchange for a draft pick.
The 49ers won all five of Garoppolo’s five starts under center for the team, which includes wins over playoff teams like Houston, Jacksonville, and Los Angeles. The 49ers have not been to the playoffs since 2013, when they went 12-4 under Jim Harbaugh.
