Ahead of Tuesday night's game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies, LeBron James also took time to commemorate the hip-hop mogul by repping BeatsโDr. Dre's headphone brand which James also endorses.
The Compton, California native worked his way from being an after-hours club performer back in the mid-80s to being part of one of the most influential rap groups in NWA. From there, Dr. Dre's popularity and success constantly grew as he transformed to being one of the biggest producers in the game, mentoring different rappers and artists through the years.
He also dabbled in entrepreneurship when he launched his headphones brand Beats By Dre in 2008, which has been a household brand in pop culture ever since. In 2014, Apple purchased the brand for $3 billion, which made Dr. Dre the richest man in hip-hop history.
