Free agent power forward Markieff Morris has been cleared to play after visiting with a neck specialist on Monday in Los Angeles, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Morris hasn't played in an NBA game since Dec. 26. He was traded by the Washington Wizards to the New Orleans Pelicans at the trade deadline, and then waived by New Orleans.
Free agent forward Markieff Morris visited Dr. Watkins today in Los Angeles regarding his neck and has been cleared to play, his agent Rich Paul tells Yahoo Sports.

Morris is an unrestricted free agent, so he's free to sign with any team of his choice. The 29-year-old is averaging 11.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season while shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 78.1 percent from the free-throw line.
Morris has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets in recent days. Now that Morris has been cleared to play, teams in need of forward depth will likely start contacting Rich Paul. Morris is probably looking to sign with a playoff team.
Markieff's brother, Boston Celtics swingman Marcus Morris, wishes the Celtics were getting his brother. Marcus says Markieff is ready and motivated to prove the doubters wrong.

Markieff Morris has career NBA averages of 11.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 555 games with the Phoenix Suns and Wizards. He was the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
