According to a report by Dakota Crawford of IndyStar, former NBA player Rasual Butler had alcohol and illegal substances in his system when he and his wife, American Idol finalist Leah LaBelle Vladowski, both passed away earlier this year in a car accident. Crawford’s report came shortly after the result of Butler’s autopsy was released.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office released the report to IndyStar on Friday. It revealed Butler had alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine and Oxycodone in his system.
There was also an empty Don Julio tequila box found in the back seat of the Range Rover, according to the report.
Rasual Butler was an NBA journeyman who played 13 successful seasons in the league for eight different franchises. He started his NBA career in 2002 with the Miami Heat, who took him in the second round as the 53rd overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft. Butler last played for the San Antonio Spurs in the 2015-16 season, suiting up for 46 games under Gregg Popovich and averaging 2.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in only 9.4 minutes.




His best year in the NBA came in 2009-10 campaign while with the L.A. Clippers, wherein he put up a career-high 11.9 points to go with 2.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 82 games.
He finished with career averages of 7.5 points on 40.3 percent shooting from the field and 2.4 rebounds in 809 games.
