The NBA may have lost two giants of the game in former commissioner David Stern and retired Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant in the first month of 2020. However, they will certainly never be forgotten.

During Friday night's Celebrity Game, “head coaches” Stephen A. Smith of ESPN and Michael Wilbon of Pardon the Interruption made sure to remember the basketball titans.

Wilbon and Smith spoke a few words before the game on Friday and held a moment of silence for the tremendous loss of the two NBA greats (via ESPN's Eric Woodyard on Twitter).

Kobe Bryant perished alongside 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven others on board a helicopter in a crash on Jan. 26. Meanwhile, the former commissioner David Stern passed away on New Year's Day after suffering a brain hemorrhage the previous month.

Despite the losses, the NBA plans to celebrate the game of basketball alongside honoring the lives of Bryant and Stern this weekend in Chicago.
