After an aggressive pursuit by the Chicago Bears to land Russell Wilson, the Seahawks went back with Wilson still being a part of the picture in Seattle, while the Bears went ahead and signed Andy Dalton. This put to bed the idea of Wilson going to Chicago. But ESPN's Adam Schefter isn't convinced Wilson won't be traded before next season.

What's fascinating here is that Schefter believes there's a chance the Seahawks and Bears circle back down the road and that perhaps Dalton is a part of a deal that would send him to Seattle. This whole ongoing saga is getting messy and makes one wonder how Wilson stays in Seattle without things getting weird and unpleasant between him and the organization.

The biggest holdup for the Seahawks had to be that, while all the draft picks in the world are great, the Bears didn't have any quarterback of value worth trading back to Seattle as well when talks had begun.

Now Seattle knows if they trade Wilson, a future Hall of Famer, they are not going to get a player of his caliber back in return. That certainly isn't their expectation either. But the Seahawks would likely want some stability, someone at the position back.

It's what makes Miami such a talked about possibility in Deshaun Watson trade discussions. If they want, the Dolphins can include Tua Tagovailoa in a return package.

This will not be the last we hear of Russell Wilson trade speculation and rumors this offseason, that much is sure. Whether or not a deal comes to fruition or not is another thing.
