Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jimmy Butler told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports that he doesn't give an “expletive” about what other people think and that he will continue to give his all as long as he plays for the team.
Butler said these statements even though he expressed his desire to be traded from the team. Despite this, the four-time All-Star still continues to suit up for the Timberwolves. The situation is certainly growing weirder the longer Butler is in a Timberwolves jersey, and it seems like his lingering presence in the locker room and on the court may be affecting some of his teammates.
While Butler's tactics and antics off the court may be questionable at best, he still deserves to be lauded as he continues to give no less than a hundred percent effort to a team he does not want to play for. He continues to lead this young Wolves squad on the court and has shown no signs of letting up his play.
We may never really know the real atmosphere in that Timberwolves locker room or what the disgruntled star is doing behind the scenes. But what we continue to see is Butler's all-around play on the court. Say what you want about his leadership style, but he is certainly leading by example.
