Lin appears to be on track to be ready go physically well ahead of the 2018-19 season if he avoids any setback. In his first two seasons with the Nets, he has only played in 37 games due to the injury bug that has raised questions about his long-term future with the organization.
He is in the second year of his three-year, $38.3 million deal that includes a $12.5 million player option for next season. It will be interesting to see if he will elect to pick up the option given the state of his health at that point in time.
Lin has proven to be a valuable asset for the Nets when on the court as he averaged 14.5 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.2 steals in 36 games played last season. He had gotten off to an encouraging start in the season opener with 18 points prior to his knee injury.
