The Indiana Pacers have added more depth to their training camp roster, as they recently signed free agent forward Jarrod Uthoff. The exact terms of his contract were not disclosed, but what's known is that it is for a one-year, partially guaranteed deal, according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.

The 24-year-old Iowa product went undrafted last year, but worked hard to get this opportunity. He went on to suit up for the Texas Legends of the G-League, where he gained valuable experience, and got additional workouts as well. Uthoff averaged 4.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 12.8 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-9 forward's signing brings the team's roster to 20, which is the maximum the NBA allows for training camps. From there on, their coaching staff will decide who to sign for guaranteed deals, and trim it down to 15, before the season starts.

It will be a tall order for Uthoff to make the final cut, as the Pacers already have the likes of Thaddeus Young, T.J. Leaf and Domantas Sabonis in their power forward rotation. However, it can be expected that he will give it is all and give them a run for their money, which could bring out the best from the players. He could also be assigned to the G-League once again, and receive a call-up should the team need someone who can play the four spot in the future.
