Some old habits die hard.
In this case, it's a habit of basketball players executing a punishment for missing easy opportunities. And Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo is no different.
After the Pacers won a close one against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday, Oladipo was pulled aside for the postgame interview. But just before the reporter could ask a single question, Oladipo dropped and gave 1o to all those watching.
He did so for a very basketball-related reason, per Whitney Medworth of SB Nation.

This practice probably traces back to when Oladipo was a kid playing basketball, when coaches would routinely make his players run suicides or do pushups if they miss free throws or layups.
And it didn't seem to matter to Oladipo that he played a crucial role in Indiana's win, per Medworth.

Postgame interviews on live TV have become a moment for hijinks for some NBA players. Teammates will routinely get in the camera shot, interrupt interviews, pour water on a player, etc.
And now, it looks like Oladipo has thrust himself into the fold of basically just having fun with the postgame interview. It should be encouraged and celebrated when players take moments to make the audience laugh during moments that are probably a little awkward for them.
But hey, at least he didn't get fined.
