Just when the Detroit Pistons are starting to turn things around after a lengthy skid, they seemed to have suffered a major setback with starting point guard Reggie Jackson sustaining an ankle injury in the third quarter of Tuesday’s dominant 107-83 win over the Indiana Pacers at home.
Jackson hurt his ankle in the third quarter of the game while trying to run a pick-and-roll play with teammate Andre Drummond. Jackson would ultimately opt to pass the ball to Pistons forward Reggie Bullock at the corner, but not before landing on Indiana big man Myles Turner’s heel with his right foot.

In a bit of a good news, Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy said, via Keith Langlois of Pistons.com, that initial X-rays of Jackson’s ankle were negative, but the 27-year-old point guard is still scheduled for further tests to see the full extent of the injury.
SVG on @Reggie_Jackson's injury. "X-rays were negative. He's got an ankle sprain. We'll get an MRI and see tomorrow."

Reggie Jackson’s injury is a tough break for the Pistons, whose win over the Pacers is their fifth in six games, a stretch that came after Detroit went on a seven-game skid.
While a timetable for Jackson’s recovery is not available, it’s safe to say that he won’t see action at least this Thursday on the road against the Orlando Magic. For the meantime, the Pistons will most likely insert Ish Smith as the starting point guard with Jackson sidelined.
