Since coming over via a trade from the L.A. Clippers, new Detroit Pistons power forward Blake Griffin can do no wrong. That notion proved to be true during Monday night's showdown with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Griffin had made a routine drive to the basket during the second quarter before he was fouled by Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic. He then subsequently hit a no-look, over-the-shoulder shot off the backboard while recovering from the foul.

Unfortunately for Griffin, his shot would not count as the foul was called on the ground. However, it goes to show the current state that the former Clipper is playing in. More importantly, he would not need the bucket as Detroit went on to win their sixth straight game. It was also their third in a row with Griffin in the lineup, who wound up finishing with 21 points, nine rebounds, and six assists en route to a dominant 111-91 victory.

Griffin was understandably shocked when the Clippers had announced they traded him for a bevy of players and picks from the Pistons. Just a month prior, the organization had convinced the rest of the NBA that they were all in on Griffin as their franchise player moving forward  However, his transition into Detroit's lineup has been seamless.

Meanwhile, head coach Stan Van Gundy has been vocal about Detroit being in a ‘win-now' mindset. As a result, they did not hesitate to pull the trigger on trading two of their more notable recent acquisitions in forward Tobias Harris and guard Avery Bradley. Needless to say, it has worked out for the Pistons thus far.
