The Portland Trail Blazers are getting a big boost in the frontcourt for the final month-plus of the regular season.
Center Jusuf Nurkic said he will be in the lineup for Portland's showdown with the Orlando Magic on Friday.

Nurkic's return could not come at a better time.
Article Continues BelowPortland got busy ahead of Thursday's trade deadline, sending Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood to the Toronto Raptors in exchange for Norman Powell.
Powell has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise depressing Raptors season. He was averaging 19.6 points and 3.0 rebounds through his first 42 games, shooting close to 50 percent from the field and nearly 44 percent from beyond the arc. The 27-year-old should give the Trail Blazers even more backcourt scoring and shooting.
But Nurkic has the potential to make an even bigger impact in a frontcourt that has generally been lacking. The 26-year-old was struggling to find his rhythm early in the season, averaging just 9.8 points and 7.7 rebounds through his first 12 games.
However, “Nurk” proved just how impactful he could be when he returned for the NBA restart last summer, averaging 17.6 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks in eight games. He clearly has upside. Portland will likely be hoping they are getting something closer to the “bubble” version of Nurkic.
The Trail Blazers are just 4-4 in the second half and sixth in the Western Conference. But they could make a run up the standings after acquiring Powell and getting Nurkic back in the rotation.
