Just a few months after the Portland Trail Blazers signed point guard Damian Lillard to a four-year, $196 million contract extension, the team locked up Lillard's backcourt mate, CJ McCollum, to a three-year, $100 million deal.

Lillard has always been extremely vocal about his love for the city of Portland and his desire to spend his entire career with the Trail Blazers. On Jordan Schultz's Pull Up Podcast, McCollum gushed about the organization that drafted him back in 2013 while reiterating his love for the fan base:

Despite putting up another year of 20-plus points per game to go along with four rebounds and three assists, McCollum actually experienced a few hiccups in his sixth season. He missed 12 games due to injury, and also shot his lowest percentage from the 3-point line since his rookie season.

In the playoffs, however, McCollum put on a show. The former Lehigh star averaged close to 25 points, five rebounds and four assists while shooting 39 percent from beyond the arc.

While Lillard was the big star in the first round against the Oklahoma City Thunder, McCollum took center stage in the second round against the Denver Nuggets.

McCollum averaged over 26 points and was heroic in several games. The 27-year-old scored 41 points in a four-overtime win in Game 3, then poured in 37 points and made a crucial defensive play in the Trail Blazers' Game 7 win that sent them to the Western Conference Finals.

Now that both Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum have secured big paydays, they will hope to lead Portland to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1992.
