The Portland Trail Blazers are highly unlikely to trade shooting guard CJ McCollum, let alone deal him to the Philadelphia 76ers for the newly-signed Al Horford.

A recent rumor stated the Sixers were interested in trading for CJ McCollum, and while it was attributed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, no video or evidence of him saying it was found.

Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports Northwest, who covers the Trail Blazers, replied to the rumor-stirrer and noted McCollum can't be traded until the end of January, especially for a player that plays a similar game as Jusuf Nurkic, who is still on his road back from injury.

The Blazers have also been adamant in keeping their star backcourt of Damian Lillard and McCollum. Despite a rough start to the season, that has not changed.

The Sixers have had trouble getting their starters to click and Horford has been one of the victims of filling their roster with stars. The veteran big man has a shadow of the role he had with the Boston Celtics, now mired as the fourth- or fifth-best option on the floor next to Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Tobias Harris, who all get shot priority.

Portland has been said to be still interested in Kevin Love and potentially Danilo Gallinari as a trade deadline addition, yet the team signed Carmelo Anthony in November and still has Nurkic to worry about once he makes his return.

Trading Hassan Whiteside could be a more likely scenario after the Blazers fully-guaranteed Anthony's contract and have liked his contributions since sitting out a full year than any deal involving McCollum.
