The Toronto Raptors have raced out to one of the best records in the league through the first half of the season.
Much of that success has been behind their dominance at home holding a nearly perfect record. In fact, their stellar start at the Air Canada Centre is actually the best in franchise history, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The Raptors currently possess the second-best home record in the league, trailing only the San Antonio Spurs at 19-2 through their first 21 home games. They have been quite an offensive force at home ranking second in the NBA with 113.1 points and 11.4 made 3-pointers per contest. The Raptors have also tied a franchise-record with 12-straight home wins earlier this season.
Article Continues BelowThe only home losses that they have suffered have been against the Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors, and Miami Heat with the latter two coming this month. This strong play at the Air Canada Centre has helped them get off to a promising start with the second-best record in the Eastern Conference, and sit just five games behind the Warriors for the best mark in the league.
Much of that has become the consistent production of their All-Star backcourt of point guard Kyle Lowry and shooting guard DeMar DeRozan. Although Lowry has seen a notable drop in his scoring, DeRozan has continued to pick up the slack, ranking eighth in the league averaging 25.0 points per game that have also helped him earn a second straight start at the All-Star Game.
Toronto has much success this year when DeRozan leads the way offensively, as the team is 11-1 when he scores more than 30 points, with the only loss coming against the Warriors. He is also averaging 28.4 points, 5.7 assists, and is shooting 37.2 percent from 3-point range through 10 games in January.
If the Raptors hope to become serious title contenders this season, it will require them to continue being dominant at home while DeRozan remains the leading offensive scoring punch.
